Who are we?


Mercy In Action International is a Christian ministry where Jesus is proclaimed as Lord.  We have a passion for both the lost and the down and out.  This includes adults and children in remote and dangerous areas of East Africa where very few others go.


Our Directors

Founded in 2001 by Bob and Ruby Nell Hoke. Mercy in Action International is governed by a board of directors of which all board members and administrative staff donate their time, and pay 100% of all Mercy in Action International ministry travel expenses.  This includes Bob & Ruby's twice-a-year trips to East Africa. This allows for ministry overhead expenses to average between 2-3%.

Providing Education and Food for Nairobi Street Children--

Mercy In Action International is an IRS approved, tax exempt, 501c3 Christian Humanitarian Agency, headquartered in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

​The ministry utilizes a unique strategy designed to communicate and to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ in ways ancillary to preaching the Word of God. These include: food, clothing, medical supplies, special transportation, school books & supplies, educational expenses, Bibles, land and churches.

SPECIAL TRIBUTE to

BILL HOWARD
MIA board member Bill Howard went home to be with Jesus on April 17, 2019. Bob asked him to be on the board when MIA was formed in 2001. Both Bob and Bill went to Africa in 1999 for the first time. This gentle man of God traveled there another 15 or 20 times. He was one of a kind.
